The ‘Player Auction’ for the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 cricket tournament commenced in Colombo today.
This is the second consecutive year that Sri Lanka’s topmost domestic T20 League is conducting a player auction.
Charu Sharma, who was part of the previous LPL player drafts, will be the auctioneer of the LPL Player Auction 2024, which will consist of 18 rounds.
Nearly 420 cricketers are to be presented for the ‘Player Auction’ out of which 154 are from Sri Lanka and the remaining 266 are overseas players.
The LPL will be played from July 1st to 21st, starting in Kandy, then in Dambulla, before heading to Colombo for the end of the tournament.
